Yesterday in the World Cup Round of 16 we saw a du Yesterday in the World Cup Round of 16 we saw a duel between Argentina led by Messi and Egypt led by Salah, end with Argentina coming from 2-0 beating Egypt 3-2, with Argentina's 3 goals coming in the last 15 minutes of the game.
Fans online have began raising speculation of match fixing at the world cup, after noticing similar patterns that led to African teams getting knocked out, like Senegal losing in the same style to England.
While that is a matter that needs plenty investigation to confirm, can we take a moment and analyse the impact of the hydration break at 75 on the mentality of the players?
I mean, it is a new rule, and one can imagine, top experienced players who have had to play full 45 minutes all their career being given short breaks especially in the second half, where the leading team has to keep the momentum going, in order to win the game.
Is it possible that these hydration breaks, are leading to a shift in morale and momentum ? I mean it is the world cup, all these teams are not going to go down easy, and so any advantage they can take they will.
Let us know what you think about this subject in the comments. Match fixing or Tactical Reset and shift in momentum?

It is the financial year round up in Kenya and the It is the financial year round up in Kenya and the royalty earnings for artists and music producers are being distributed.
The same usual KSHS 2000 that music creatives have been complaining about, is the amount that has been issued even to artists with hits being played all over the country. This is surprising, after some government officials came out claiming that MCSK which was also known for this habit had been disbanded. The argument that these CMOs have always put forward is that radio do not submit logs when they play the songs and therefore they are not able to account for the accurate royalties to distribute to the top artists. This argument would be fair in the analogue era of technology, but in these times of Artificial Intelligence, audio fingerprinting technology is not something that a company dedicated to collecting revenue for artists, would claim not to know about. At this point, these companies are just robbing artists in broad daylight, because the current level of technological development in the world and the excuse they are giving is not adding up.
Artists and industry creatives endure a lot in the creation of these projects and it is very unfortunate that companies assigned to protect these artists are not doing their jobs. KAMP, PAVRISK, KECOBO and MCSK should be held accountable by the law at this point. Share your thoughts on what you think about this topic.

From the recent Toxic Lyrikali and NSG collaborati From the recent Toxic Lyrikali and NSG collaboration, one of the most interesting parts is the last bridge, where one of the NSG group members says " I don't want to end up on Nairobi Gossip"
This clearly indicates that Nairobi's gossip culture which has been made popular by the Nairobi Gossip Club page on Instagram is becoming part of the city's global identity and what it is recognised for.
So what about the Hip hop scene. Gossip and snitching have always been against street code, yet Kenyan Hip hop boasts as one of the most relevant hip hop factions. We have seen many rappers mention the infamous Instagram page on multiple tracks and now it has been mentioned on a global track.
So, does this part of our identity dilute the Hip Hop culture or pushes it forward, because some countries outside could be watching this aspect of Kenyan culture. What do you think? Is being recognised for gossip hip or not?

Kenyan rap fans are in excitement after the releas Kenyan rap fans are in excitement after the release of "Rapper" by NSG featuring Toxic Lyrikali off their latest album. This comes after battling crew Buruklyn Boyz earlier this year which many fans had him as the better in the exchange, but many still argued. Buruklyn Boyz have always been the side that appealed to UK culture and even have an album named "East Mpaka London" but for Toxic Lyrikali to go ahead and get a feature from UK artists shows how impactful he was during the rap battle exchange. At this point, he is making a mockery of Buruklyn Boyz, as the authenticity he questioned them about is still manifesting moreso with this last move, as Buruklyn Boyz are yet to Collab with London artists or even perform in the UK. This has opened the doors for more listeners and opportunities for Kenyan music which is now entering it's highest peaks. Let us know in the comments how you feel about this topic.

Fans have taken notice to the double entendre when he says in verse 2 of the song "Mi ndio nilitrendisha vako ya kudunga Tiki Plain/Plain" Tiki here is slang for Nike derived from the Nike tick logo whereas plain can mean the all white Nikes or can be replaced with plane ✈️ which symbolises the Nike Air Ones specifically, which in Sheng (Kenyan Slang) is referred to as " Ndege " which is Swahili for an aeroplane.
A simple but classic show of elite word play that has left fans in awe as many had not realised the hidden meaning.

Citizens of the democratic republic of Kenya are l Citizens of the democratic republic of Kenya are left in controversy after the High Court of Kenya has upheld motion of banning graffiti on matatus, citing safety.
Technically, this means that from now hence forth you will not see the booming matatu matwana Culture in the streets of Nairobi. Practically, is this a possible reality that could eventually come to pass. Graffiti on matatus has not only become a part of Kenyan Culture, but also a part of our global identity. We have seen numerous artists and prominent people from overseas credit the graffiti on matatus specifically, meaning it is something unique to Kenyans and appeals to outsiders.
So where are we heading as Kenyans and Africans ? Are we going against our celebrated cultures and identity, or are we shaping the structures to support the appreciated cultures?
Online, some matatus groups argue that the desicion is bias, stating the government is quick to act on matters graffiti, and not on issues like the number of unroadworthy buses, the bad conditions of some of the roads. So, is this law going to become a reality and reshape the story of the country?

In rap beef, it is historically proven that there In rap beef, it is historically proven that there is the battle portion, which is the short term part, and the war portion which bears the the long term consequences.
For reference, people like to say Nas washed Jay Z in the battle, but Jay Z won the war as he levelled up to a position of power, so much that he could undermine Nas' music moves to some degree.
In the recent Kenyan Rap battle between Toxic Lyrikali and Buruklyn Boyz, there is still 'doubts' in the minds of some industry individuals about who won the beef while majority of the fans favoured Toxic Lyrikali. This consists the battle portion of the beef.
Now, close affiliate group of Toxic Lyrikali, '34 Brick' have dropped individual projects, with 1/3 Onlymoh releasing 'Asake' Mauru Gwash with ' Mama Wong' and Jayloh34 with 'Monday to Sunday' all trending tracks in the social media space.
This is now the war portion of the beef, and it is looking good in the favour of Toxic Lyrikali as the affiliated groups to Buruklyn Boyz have not shown any sign of retaliation after the battle which many had them as the losers.

After the massive success of his resurfacing hit s After the massive success of his resurfacing hit song 'Olunga' HITMAN KAHT is now seemingly taking advantage of the football momentum in hisatest single 'All I Need'
After a memorable night of EPL fixtures, which saw Chelsea edge Aston Villa 4 - 1 and Manchester United drop points after being edged 2 - 1 by New Castle fans online are buzzing with online post game commentary, which is more the culture in Kenya and Nairobi to be specific.

The storm clears and the aftermath of the epic Ken The storm clears and the aftermath of the epic Kenyan rap battle is upon us. Much debate was ongoing within the local scene about who emerged as the better. Logically and statistically, there was no debate to begin with. Just like in a boxing match, a knockout victory cannot be decided by a unanimous judge desicion, as was the case in this rap battle. Toxic Lyrikali was one against two, he landed the more effective jabs lyrically, and did less promotion compared to the rival group, which has now 2 videos out now (unheard of in rap beef)
However, notably some of the top trusted HipHop mainstream entities in collaboration with other mainstream media were visibly not sharing the same opinion with the masses. We even have CCTV footage of Toxic Lyrikali being assaulted being brought up in major outlets, which had nothing to do with rap in the first place. Radio presenters are still speaking in the lines of he took loss, which is not resonating with the audience, leaving some to question " which loss?"
Amid all this local tension, the global audience interested in Kenyan music was also engaged and clearly had a winner in mind. Amidst all this drama and negative publicity by the mainstream media, Toxic Lyrikali is the first to be invited outside Kenya to perform in Qatar. Qatar hosts a large number of Kenyans and it cannot be by coincidence, that they have favoured Toxic Lyrikali to perform. They must have now valued him more and favoured him as the winner just as the majority, after the rap battle.
This has now shun the spotlight on the local media, who are now desperately trying to force the opposite narrative, leaving many to wonder, "who does the mainstream media work for?"
Is it a matter of individual envy by the lower ranking employees trying to manipulate the narrative, or does this go higher up the actual people who run the media?
All we can say is, all the best to Toxic on his first International show.

In the heat of the currently buzzing rap battle be In the heat of the currently buzzing rap battle between Toxic Lyrikali and Buruklyn Boyz, more fuel has been added to the fire, by rapper Sewrsyda 1/3 of Wakadinali, publicly speaking about his distaste towards rapper Nyashinski.
He responded to a comment by a fan asking why the two have not worked together, stating he admired both rappers and wished to see them collaborate on a project.
Sewersyda responded "mtu akijifanya sukari, unakuwa chumvi" loosely translated to 'if someone acts sweet, you become salty'
This confirms standout line in the Wakadinali VOM 2 album "Nyash , matako wewe" was actually a shot at Nyashinski.
Fans are already talking in the lines of anticipating back and forth bars or a full on battle. If this was to go down, who do you think will emerge?

Fans have been quick to notice that a lot of Buruk Fans have been quick to notice that a lot of Buruklyn Boyz antics in the ongoing rap battle have mostly been painting an image of violence. In the music video for "Stima" a diss aimed towards Toxic Lyrikali, they are holding guns and portraying a thug image, which Toxic Lyrikali claims they are not.
But it is the most recent post on Mr. Right Instagram that has left many wondering how personal the beef is. Originally it was about authenticity, but now it seems Buruklyn Boyz want to escalate things into physical confrontation as he posted an AI generated image of Buruklyn Boyz beating up Toxic Lyrikali which is a very heavy statement amidst such tension.
Toxic Lyrikali on the other hand has stood against violence stating he does not condone any violence and will let the fans decide. Multiple sources indicate that Toxic Lyrikali is the better in this battle and maybe this is the reason they are resorting to violence.
We at Rap League do not support violence as we believe the microphone is the last resort for any kind of confrontation.

Even before Toxic Lyrikali can officially respond, Even before Toxic Lyrikali can officially respond, he is already landing the more effective jabs in the exchange. This is a rap battle, but it is also warfare and you cannot allow your opponent any chance to criticise you especially, coming from a perceived lost round.
Buruklyn Boyz a few hours ago released their response to the now number 1 Trending "Dumpsite" a track labeled "Genje Sana" At a glance, everyone noticed that they had already shared the song as a Freestyle and fans have heard it before. They already gave competitive advantage to the opponent as Toxic Lyrikali was quick to take to his Instagram Story "Mnafufua vitu za kitambo" meaning, you are dropping old material, already validating his original point to his fans. This is an amateur move, especially after Toxic Lyrikali on Dumpsite criticised them for lack of originality and creativity. It goes to show they did not study the last diss record and have now gone out of context, legitimising the claims on Dumpsite. I mean, if someone calls you out for being fake and fans get hooked on to it, to prove yourself, you have to show some level of originality and creativity to diss - regard the claims (see what I did there? 😏).
Moreover, the song does not display any significant lyrical jabs in response to now the number 1 Trending "Dumpsite" by Toxic Lyrikali.
" Ukipata E tena utaambia nini mum?" is the standout line by Mr.Right in the whole track, a spin off from Toxic's BackBencher Hit Record. Really? Is that how you come at your biggest rival after his diss record aimed at you is sitting number one on the charts?
Buruklyn Boyz are looking very weak in this exchange fam, let's keep it honest, and it's not about sides, we are just giving live commentary on the stats. We can't even say if Toxic should respond at this point.

The Kenyan Hip Hop scene is on fire after the much The Kenyan Hip Hop scene is on fire after the much anticipated lyrical battle between Mr Right and Toxic Lyrikali, finally comes alive with diss tracks released from both sides.
Buruklyn Boyz were the first to drop their diss record "Stima" with both members of the camp taking shots at Toxic Lyrikali, basically mimicking him and throwing subliminal jabs, about their freedom to do any kind of rap.
Less than a day later Toxic Lyrikali responds with his own diss track towards them, trashing their lifestyle, their mentality, their hood, their style and flow.
In our expert opinion, this battle is not yet over but, Toxic Lyrikali is looking the better of this round as he is 1 against 2, he is going direct at them, and he is landing the more effective jabs lyrically, questioning the authenticity of the group and more notably the mentality behind their music. He calls the group socialites and not real hustlers, as they portray themselves to the fans. He questions the rap group why their album " East mpaka London " with lead single " dream ya kutoka Kwa block " is commercially successful yet they are still in the hood. A very relevant point amongst others, making him look like the superior in this round.
Buruklyn Boyz on the other hand, on the music video posed with a lot of guns, majorly claiming they don't rate Toxic in the streets and in the industry, saying he would only beef online but act cool when they meet.
Let us know in the comments who is the better of the two groups in this round.
